About the project:
The city of Paris and the Greater Paris Metropolis will be hosting the 2024 Olympic Games. The workshop has seen its overture with a series of lectures presenting current planning debates on urban development and social legacies of previous (mega)-events in France, Germany, Italy and Sweden. These lectures established insight into the common challenges faced by European cities during, and after, megaevents at different scales and in different national contexts. The groups of students produced detailed analytical work one of the four sites (through fieldwork, data gathering, etc.) and defined separate projects taking the local people, the local needs and the local territory into account.
